lunch: chiles & chocolates

finding great mexican is a feat in new york. though there are some great spots for this and that, there are no mission-esque taquerias within a 20min bike ride - and they still leave a lot to be desired. BUT, a few blocks from our house we have chiles & chocolates and they make delightful fish tacos, which inspired this kodak moment. (on 7th ave and sterlingish for you bklyn kids)

golden jonah and kissing facial hair

jonah inspires kissing and cuddling. this is true and known throughout the universe. it was a delight to see and kiss his scruff on my birthday - the photos are distorted through camera bag, a rad iphoto app. (check jonah's blog groinstrong, which chronicles his fantastic journeys and how he is kicking melanoma's ass.)

birthday pie

pie is better than cake. shit, pie is nearly better than mango waffles...at times, it takes the cake - the pie - the waffle? anywho, niki got the most amazing pies for the bday picnic from ladybird bakery. jamrock.

tax day

i was walking to get coffee on tax morning and saw this apt sticker en route while on 24th street in the mission. this was right in front of the emergency room entrance to a hospital. death & taxes...

new hat = giddy

this is the most absurd waste of a blog post, but i want to remember this hat and the joy it brought me on a cold, cold-ass day in april. (it snowed here in nyc today.)

niki and i got my bikes and rambled through brooklyn - finding the most amazing graffiti and a thrift store that made me weep.

our four hours in india..on the way to a bar

3. they are big. really fucking big (shorter folks look uncomfortable)

5. they have seats that force you to think about how you are sitting on them. for realz.

jake brings smiles - astonishing smiles that come naturally and those belly-bursting, laugh until you cry smiles. while we bumped our way outside of camp, jake told stories of car wrecks due to ... good acts, tales of cops and his fear of wearing shorts. happy birthday, jake! xo, c
