last night: lessons in taxidermy

last night i spent almost four hours sitting in the front row of the fourth (somewhat) annual taxidermy showdown. part of the science sessions at the bell house and union hall, this event was amazing. the first photo is of the winner's fighting / dancing cats. his taxidermied wonder beat-out over 40 challengers - ranging from albino mice escaping a lab to one fella's two-headed baby that he made from his own skin. shit.you.not. will try and find some video of the event and links, but all-in-all: WOWZERS. (below, one of hundreds of great, albeit sometimes scary, photos of taxidermy at crappytaxidermy.com.

Mustaches for Kids! Support our Kiddos and Overworked, Under-Resourced Teachers!

it's the annual shave and grow for the kiddos!

for the four weeks i'll be growing my mustache strong, i'll be inviting you to support schools and teachers in need at home here in Brooklyn and back in my homeland of Kansas (projects at my high school and Davis' mom's school!).

The needs range from calculators and math books to African drums and materials for costume and puppet creation. Please donate what you can to help these kids and our overworked teachers - every $ goes a long way!

Do it for the kiddos! Go on, get to it and make a difference->

xo, chris

nb: last year we raised $1,742 - help us get to $2,009!!!

Please forward and share on facebook and all that good stuff!

Retro Arcade Museum!

taryn, alex, niki and i went up to dia beacon (great contemporary art museum upstate with richard serra's work + other awesome bits) and stumbled upon the fantastic retro arcade museum! here are a few highlights - and one lowlight, which you'll figure-out.

best ad ever (to combat obesitiy)

love this subway advert. the double and triple-takes folks would have were priceless - especially if they had coke in their hand.

fall and wonder

days like this help me remember to live amongst the four seasons.

DC for Pledge2Protect

went down to dc for the latest campaign i've been working on (read my post on how amazing youth have ushered-in a new era of video advocacy and are pressuring congress to create comprehensive legislation to prevent genocide and mass atrocities).

dc is pretty.

Mustache is gone, but coming back for the kiddos!
